As the impact of the 4th Industrial Revolution is felt in schools, school leaders will require new skill sets as they endeavor to prepare students for jobs that do not exist yet. The ICP is aware of possible uncertainties that could arise from this scenario.
It is, however, also exciting times for educators, who aspire to become school leaders. To assist you on your journey, the International Confederation of Principals (ICP) would like to invite you to join aspiring school leaders from across the world at the ICP’s Aspiring School Leaders convention in Cape Town, where the theme ‘Next Leaders, New Future’ will be explored.
At this convention, education experts and practicing school principals will invest in your professional growth by sharing their wisdom and experience. They will be able to guide you in the ‘right direction’, as you negotiate some new and exciting ongoing changes in education, as the decade unfolds.
This convention will also grant you opportunities to connect with aspiring leaders from many different countries. The group discussions will allow you opportunities to learn from other aspiring leaders, to find ways to collaborate with them and establish an international support system for your journey into educational leadership, which in turn, will have a positive impact on the education systems of the world.
Register now and join us at the Century City Convention Centre in Cape Town from the 11th to the 13th of June 2020 to benefit from this amazing experience and place you in a better position to explore options to address new challenges linked to future requirements.
I look forward to welcoming you in Cape Town!

As the sun rises on a new era in education, leadership is more important than it ever has been. Leaders aren’t born. Leaders are grown. Aspiring Leaders in education must be identified and given opportunities to grow, to fail, to get up and continue. They need the skills. Being a good teacher does not necessary equate to being a good education leader. Problem solving and decision making skills are essential and can only be learnt through trial and error. The art of collaborating with others to achieve a shared goal is paramount. Learning the art of mindfulness in order to stay calm under pressure and the incredible skill of facilitating change – even in the face of harsh criticism, requires well equipped, well-trained and well-failed leaders.
Our Aspiring Leaders Convention will equip, empower and embolden the next generation of leaders so they are prepared to take our children into a new future.
